The team of the research project №1-2023 ‘The Effects of the European Sustainability Strategy on the Development of Agriculture in Bulgaria’ invites teachers, PhD students, students, researchers and practitioners to participate in a webinar to discuss the problems of the sustainable agriculture in our country.
With the modern dynamics of technological progress and the ever-increasing importance of food production in the world, contradictions and conflicts appear, laid down by the actual spontaneous market self-regulation. The rapid economic effect does not always correspond to the pace of change in social norms and rules, as well as to the mechanisms regulating the "production - environment" interaction, which requires intervention to regulate and coordinate all levels of management, and this is even more evident manifested in the agricultural production sector. That is why the European Commission is focusing its efforts on specific environmental actions in the field of agriculture and transforming the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), made possible by the Farm to Fork Strategy.
In recent years, the COVID-19 pandemic has shown how important a reliable and flexible food system is to ensure access to food for citizens at an affordable price. As part of the EU, Bulgaria can benefit from the achievements of other member countries and thus rethink the national policy in the field of agriculture.
