The Centre for International Affairs (CIA) aims to create, maintain and enrich the international partner network of the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics in order to support sustainable foundations of partnerships in the field of scientific and educational cooperation worldwide. Furthermore, it promotes the integration of the academic society into the European and Global framework of Higher Education.

CIA is divided into four main divisions:

  • International Cooperation
  • International Mobility
  • International Activities and Protocol
  • Foreign Citizens

International Cooperation division is responsible for the organisation of the contracting, updating, functioning, registering and back up of the bilateral framework contracts and memorandums between the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics and foreign HEIs and organisations. The division supports the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics participation in international consortia.
International Mobility division is responsible for staff and student inbound and outbound mobility realized within various programmes or bilateral agreements. It is in charge with the promotion and dissemination of the opportunities for international mobility. International Mobility division comprises the Erasmus+ Office that is responsible for the organisation of student and staff mobility under the Erasmus+ prgramme, Key action 103 and Key action 107. It also confirms the period abroad by issuing Europass mobility certificates (for residents of Programme countries) or Erasmus+ mobility certificates (for residents of Partner countries).
International Activities and Protocol division is responsible for promoting the opportunities for participating in summer schools, educational forums and scientific conferences abroad for students and staff. It takes care of the invitation letters issuing for guests coming from countries outside EU that need visa for short or long stay in Bulgaria. The division supports the organisation of international events at the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics.
Foreign Citizens division is responsible for foreign student admission to the certain faculty of the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics. It plays an intermediate role in the foreign student admission process. The division is also in charge with the verification of diploma and certificates issued by the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics and is supposed to prove the authenticity of the document to foreign institutions.
