“We congratulate you for your desire and interest in participating in the student conference organized by our three departments. May your papers contribute to a better and detailed understanding of the processes and connections in the dynamic and intriguing international business environment, and may your presence here create new friendships and scientific contacts.” These words were addressed to the participants of the twenty-eighth student conference on the problems and dimensions of international business by Assoc. Prof. Zdravko Lyubenov, head of the International Economic Relations Department at Tsenov Academy of Economics - Svishtov. The scientific forum took place on May 18, 2024, at the Training base of the academy in the village of Oreshak, Troyan municipality.

Prof. Vesselina Dimitrova, head of the related department at the University of Economics - Varna, and Head Assist. Prof. Daniela Ilieva from the Department of Economics and International Relations at Angel Kanchev University of Ruse also expressed their greetings to the students and wishes for successful presentations.

The participants in the 28th edition of the forum were twice as many as the previous year and were divided into two working sections, in which they showed developments in all five thematic areas of the conference - international investment, international tourism, global business, international integration and trade, and people management. After a preliminary double blind review process, 21 papers by 26 students (12 in bachelor's, 7 in master's and 7 in doctoral studies) from four universities (Tsenov Academy of Economics - Svishtov, University of Economics - Varna, University of Ruse and University of Sofia) were admitted for presentation. Seventeen of the reports were presented in Bulgarian and four in English.

The scope of the research included diverse topics such as: international investments in renewable energy sources; bitcoin halving and cryptocurrencies; the management of companies in times of crisis; technological progress and trade in Turkey; economic cooperation between China and Bulgaria; cobalt mining in Congo, etc. For the fifth year, those interested had the opportunity to get involved online and follow the developments in the BigBlueButton virtual platform of the Academy of Economics.

The presentations were done in front of professors from the departments-organizers of the forum and business representatives. All authors received certificates of participation, and the most attractive report in each section won a special certificate for the best presentation.
The approved scientific developments will be published in the annual electronic journal of the conference with ISSN 2738-8573, included in the National Reference List (NRL) of modern Bulgarian peer-reviewed publications. The proceedings are available in electronic format at dlib.uni-svishtov.bg and on the conference page mioconference.eu.
As part of a project for partial financing of scientific forums, actions were taken to have the journal indexed in the secondary databases of scientific publications, in which the journals of the Tsenov Academy of Economics are indexed - CEEOL, Google Scholar, EBSCO, RePEc.
