KreativEU alliance members deepened connections through friendly visit and city twinning

February 20th, 2025 was marked by the official visit of the international delegation of Tomar to Svishtov. The day started with a warm-hearted and cordial meeting at the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics. The international delegation, led by the Mayor of Tomar, Mr. Hugo Cristóvão, the Pro-President for Internationalisation and Pedagogical Innovations of the Polytechnic University of Tomar, Prof. Célio Gonçalo Marques, and Prof. Silviu-Marian Miloiu from Valahia University of Târgovişte, was kindly welcomed by the Rector of the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics, Assoc. Prof. Marin Marinov, and his leadership team.


The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere between members of the KreativEU family, during which the future of the KreativEU alliance and joint activities and initiatives were discussed.



The day continued with a twinning ceremony between the cities of Svishtov and Tomar. The international delegation was welcomed by the Mayor of Svishtov, Dr. Gencho Genchev, and the Chair of the Municipal Council of Svishtov, Dr. Kristiyan Kirilov, at the Town Hall. As a gesture of support and appreciation, the twinning ceremony was attended by the Rector of the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics, Vice Rector for International Cooperation, Student Policy, Institutional Communications, and Continuing Education, and Director of the Centre for International Affairs.


During the brotherhood ceremony, the mayors signed a twinning protocol between the two cities.

Both mayors exchanged twinning documents, as well as gifts typical to Svishtov and Tomar.


Dr. Genchev highlighted the importance of the D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics for the city of Svishtov and congratulated the KreativEU alliance for the initiative and intermediate role in establishing and deepening the connections between nations, regions, and communities.
