Practical trainings in Troyan with graduates in International Economic Relations

On April 19, 2019 students and teachers in International Economic Relations at Tsenov Academy of Economics - Svishtov and at Angel Kanchev University of Ruse paid a visit to the production facilities of the company Kalinel Ltd. and the Tourist Information Center in the town of Troyan.

The owner and founder of Kalinel Ltd. Mr. Marin Radevski personally welcomed his guests and greeted them into the exposition hall of one of the leading companies in the home textile industry in Europe and one of the largest in the country. In the form of a seminar, Mr. Radevski told the students about the history of the company - about how an idea and a small first workshop in the neighboring village of Troyan became the main supplier of IKEA. Mr. Radevski told about some real crisis management cases, the actions of the company in times of problematic deliveries, about tactics to convince customers, about the increasing range of products and territorial expansion through investments abroad. In his speech, Mr. Radevski repeatedly called for students to travel more - a must for every successful trader.

The Trade Department presented its work to the students, among which Nataliya Rogosheva - BSc in International Economic Relations in Svishtov, class of 2015. Nataliya told about the benefits of the subjects taught in the specialty for her smoother entry into the working environment - INCOTERMS, negotiation techniques and business correspondence, foreign trade agreements and others. The company has a young and ambitious team, a significant part of which has graduated from the Tsenov Academy of Economics and continues to look for specialists with an economic profile, the hosts assured. Many questions have been asked - both by students and teachers, to which the hosts responded in detail with actual examples.
With appreciation for the warm reception Assoc. Prof. Galina Zaharieva, PhD, Head of the Department of International Economic Relations in Svishtov, presented to Mr. Radevski advertising materials about Tsenov Academy of Economics and souvenirs of Alumni Club MIO, wishing for new successes and fruitful cooperation.

Led by Nataliya Rogosheva, students and lecturers also visited and learned about the production, packaging and storage premises of Kalinel Ltd.

The next practical part of the visit to Troyan was in the Tourist Information Center of the town, hosted by Tsvetelina Kalcheva - BSc in International Economic Relations in Svishtov, class of 2009, who won a competition to become Secretary of Troyan Municipality in the autumn of 2018. Tsvetelina Kalcheva described her career path, highlighting the importance of pre-graduate practice for students - the way she had managed to find her first job at Rico Style Ltd. in Troyan, one of the best factories for the production of chairs and massive tables, where they had put their trust in a Svishtov student to look for new clients from Western Europe.

Tsvetelina has also highlighted the benefits of learning foreign language communication and negotiation skills, sharing her experience in studying under the Erasmus program in Germany, one of the earliest mobilities from the Academy, and encouraging students to use the program and any other opportunity to visit foreign countries and learn more about local cultures.

Тhe visit to Kalinel Ltd. and the Tourist Information Center was a result of the proactive work of the Alumni Club MIO - the organization of graduates at the Department of International Economic Relations at the Tsenov Academy of Economics in Svishtov. Tsvetelina Kalcheva is a newly registered member of the Club, and the relationship with her was established by Mariela Vakinova, PhD, BSc graduate from 2008 class and full member of the Club, Operational Erasmus+ Coordinator at the Academy, and Head Assist. Ivaylo Petrov, PhD, Department’s Alumni Coordinator and secretary of Alumni Club MIO.

The visits to Kalinel Ltd. and the Tourist Information Center are part of the Department of International Economic Relations’ scientific calendar for 2019. The Department wish to thank Mrs. Kalcheva, Mr. Radevski, Ms. Rogosheva and the corresponding teams for their time and shared information.
