The Department of IER held the 26th edition of its student conference

On May 21, 2022, the Department of International Economic Relations at the Dimitar Tsenov Academy of Economics - Svishtov organized its twenty-sixth consecutive student scientific-practical conference. The participants in the conference are current bachelor's, master's and doctoral students in Bulgarian or foreign universities, studying in economic specialties with an international focus. Partners in the organization for another year are the Department of International Economic Relations at the University of Economics - Varna and the Department of Economics and International Relations at Angel Kanchev University of Ruse.
After the previous two years the forum was held entirely in an electronic environment, this year students had the opportunity to choose between face-to-face and remote form of participation. The on-site attendance traditionally took place in the training base of the Academy of Economics in the village of Oreshak, Troyan municipality, and online participants were provided with access to a virtual audience in the BigBlueButton platform.

The conference started with greetings and wishes of success from the organizers - Assoc. Prof. Zdravko Lyubenov PhD, Head of IER-Svishtov, Assoc. Prof. Georgi Marinov PhD, Head of IER at the University of Economics - Varna, and Head Assistant Daniela Ilieva PhD from the University of Ruse.
The presented works were in five thematic areas, with participants students and scholars from the three Bulgarian departments-organizers and two foreign universities - from Shota Rustaveli State University in Batumi (Georgia) and the Free International University of Moldova. The reports showed the broad scientific interests of the ‘internationals’ - among the topics were Norwegian direct investment in developing countries before the pandemic, the economic development of the Nordic countries and Finland, trade relations between the European Union and China, the blue economy, challenges to the modern labor market, leadership styles of women managers, neural networks to predict deflation.

The authors of the presented reports received certificates of participation, and the approved scientific papers will be published in an electronic collection of reports included in the National Reference List (NRC) of modern Bulgarian scientific journals with scientific review. The collection is available in electronic format on dlib.uni-svishtov.bg and on the conference page mioconference.eu.
