D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics is a specialised state university that performs its scientific research in the area of Social, Economic and Law sciences. The Academy pursues its science policy in compliance with the national and international standards for research implementation and commercialisation of the results.
The Academy's scientific research potential is focused on conducting structural, sectoral and specialised economic research and analysis, marketing research, implementation of innovations, technology transfer, project management, risk assessment and risk management. The results of the conducted academic studies in the area of strategic analyses of Bulgarian and European economy, European and cross-border cooperation and regional development, social and insurance policies, sustainable development and entrepreneurship bring a significant value to the development of science.
In partnership with representatives of European universities, the research workers at the Academy of Economics actively participate in organising and running national and international scientific forums, forming teams to conduct research and establishing inter-university interdisciplinary scientific networks. Dissemination of research results within the Academy is via the referred scientific journals published by D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics – “Economic archive” journal, "Business Management" journal, "Economics 21" journal, “Dialogue" e - journal and the Scientific Research Almanac.
With a view to promoting research, improving the relations, coordination and interaction with representatives of other scientific and business organisations, the Academy of Economics has been implementing projects financed by the Ministry of Education, EU funds, including the Erasmus programme, European Regional Development Fund-ERDF-INTERREG-V-A Programme Romania-Bulgaria, as well as the Operational Programme "Science and Education for Smart Growth" 2014-2020.
